Schedule FAQ
- You are not required to visit campus for distance education courses, except for some exams. However, exam accommodations can be arranged if you are out of state.
- Distance education tuition depends on the session in which you take the course. Be sure to check the University Cashier’s Office website for current pricing: http://treasurer.ofb.ncsu.edu/cashier/.
- Distance education courses fulfill curriculum requirements just like regular courses.
- It’s important to note that some on-campus courses may be listed as “internet” courses. These are not distance education courses but regular courses administered online. They will be billed at the regular course rate.
- If you are an on-campus graduate student, you are not allowed to take distance courses during the Fall or Spring semesters. However, you may take one during the summer semester. To register, you will need to set up an online account. For help, contact the IMSEI Program Assistant Bill Irwin at wjirwin@ncsu.edu.
- You may take up to 15 credit hours during the Fall or Spring semesters. However, if you wish to enroll in more than 15 credit hours, you must first obtain approval from the IMSEI Director. Additionally, you will need to complete the required forms for the Graduate School, College of Engineering and Registration and Records.
- Complete and submit a Reduced Course Load (RCL) Request.
